In contrast, the 2021 Scout from motorcycle maker Indian is a middleweight Cruiser series bike. This is a great choice for those seeking traditional Cruiser performance with contemporary design elements. The design of this motorcycle is reminiscent of Indian Scout bikes from nearly 100 years ago.
The Harley-Davidson® Sportster® S was Inspired by Flat-Track Racers
As a flat-track-inspired motorcycle, this bike has amazing performance. It also comes with a circular instrument gauge cluster that has a 4 inch TFT display screen and Bluetooth compatibility. Here, you can choose between a range of selectable ride modes. You can also control your Reflex Defensive Rider Systems. These advanced rider aids come standard on the new Sportster® S. The Indian Scout features a 41 mm front inverted telescopic fork system. On the back, you will get dual shocks. The front and rear independent hydraulic disc brakes come with a set of stainless steel brake lines. Anti-lock braking is optional on the Indian Scout. If you choose the Thunder Black paint package, anti-lock brakes come standard. The Indian Scout has a single disc brake at the front rather than a dual disk brake. This improves its appearance but detracts from its performance slightly.
The Harley-Davidson® Sportster® S Powertrain Advantage
The Harley-Davidson® Sportster® S is powered by an all-new Revolution Max liquid-cooled powertrain. This powertrain includes double overhead camshafts and has variable valve timing. This engine provides plenty of torque and also gives you an instantaneous power band which will enhance your control. The 1252 CC V-twin engine can produce up to 121 horsepower and over 92 pound-feet of torque.
This engine also comes with a six-speed transmission and a premium slipper clutch. One of the most unique features of the Revolution Max 1250T powertrain is its structural design. This engine has been built as part of the motorcycle’s chassis and replaces the need for an old-school frame. As such, the entire setup creates lightweight agility with a low center of gravity.
